Listen again: 17th April 2012

Andy Wasley, Media Manager from Stonewall, talks to Rosie about the ‘gay cure’ advert that was banned on London buses.

Jamie McDermott from the band The Irrepressibles tells us about his latest project: the opera “War Sum Up”, which can be seen at the Brighton Festival on  25th May. For more see  brightonfestival.org.

Also, comedian Susan Calman is on the phone. Besides her comedy shows, she also writes and acts and has gathered a few awards along the way, including Best New Scottish Comedian in 2009 and Scottish BAFTA for Best Comedy or Entertainment for “Blowout” in 2007. Her next gigs are in Brighton on 13th and 14th May. Check out the Comedy Queen of Scots on susancalman.com.

For rights reasons the music is not on the podcast, but that’s what you could hear on the show:

1) Amity:  ‘Bedpost’ from her debut EP “i”

2) Heather Peace: ‘Better than you’ from the album “Fairytales” – released on 21st May

3) ‘Spy Super Hero’ from Jamie McDermott’s opera “War Sum Up”
