Rosie welcomes Scottish award-winning writer Kirsty Logan to the studio. She reads from her collection of dark, poetic fairytales The Rental Heart, which has just won the Polari First Book Prize.

Multi-disciplinary festival of LGBTQI arts, film and performance GFEST runs from 9 – 21 November. Artistic director Niranjan Kamatkar talks us through this year’s highlights.

We also hear from performers Ali Child and Rosie Wakley about forgotten lesbian variety stars Gwen Farrar and Norah Blaney who were household names in the 1920s. You can see their show All the Nice Girls at the King’s Head Theatre from 2 – 8 November.

For rights reasons the music is not on the podcast, but here’s what we played on the live show:

1) John Grant: Disappointing from the album Grey Tickles, Black Pressure
2) Roseau: Kids and Drunks from the album Salt
3) Soak: Reckless Behaviour from the album Before We Forgot How to Dream
4) Gwen Farrar and Norah Blaney: Medley from the compilation Tipping the Velvet
